Project Background

In today’s era when the concept of green travel is deeply rooted in people’s hearts, electric bicycles have become an ideal choice for many consumers due to their convenience and environmental friendliness. Our client OMOVEE keenly sensed market demand and hoped to develop an innovative electric bicycle to meet consumers’ pursuit of convenient travel and personalized functions. This electric bicycle not only needs to have the advantages of traditional electric bicycles but also achieve breakthroughs in portability, charging methods, and safety performance.

Solution

To meet the OMOVEE needs, we proposed a series of innovative solutions. Firstly, for portability, a portable electronic charging module that can be quickly installed and removed was designed. This design allows users to charge the electric bicycle without having to move the entire vehicle to the charging location. They only need to remove the charging module for charging, greatly improving the convenience of use. Secondly, to enhance safety performance, we added alarm functions and fingerprint recognition functions. The alarm function can issue an alarm in time when the vehicle encounters abnormal situations, reminding users and surrounding people. The fingerprint recognition function ensures the safety of vehicle use, and only authorized users can start the vehicle.

Step 1

Market Research

 At the beginning of the project, we conducted in-depth market research. Through the study of consumer needs, competitor product analysis, and industry development trends, we determined the product’s positioning and functional requirements. Understanding consumers’ high attention to portability, charging convenience, and safety performance provided a strong basis for subsequent design work.

Step 2

Industrial Design

 Based on the results of market research, OPD design team began industrial design. With the goal of a simple and stylish appearance, while considering the product’s portability and ergonomic principles, OPD designed an electric bicycle that is both beautiful and practical. During the design process, OPD fully considered the installation position and method of the charging module to ensure that it can achieve quick installation and removal without affecting the overall aesthetics of the vehicle.

Step 3

Mechanical Design

On the basis of industrial design, OPD carried out detailed structural design. Ensure that the vehicle’s structure is stable and can withstand various road conditions and usage environments. At the same time, rationally arrange the internal space of the vehicle to provide good installation and protection for electronic components and charging modules.

Step 4

Electronic Design

 Electronic design is one of the key links in the entire project. OPD electronic engineer team carefully designed the electronic system of the electric bicycle to achieve various advanced functions. Firstly, the portable charging function ensures that users can charge the vehicle anytime and anywhere. By optimizing the design of the charging module, it is both lightweight and portable, and can quickly and efficiently charge the electric bicycle. Secondly, the design of front and rear lights not only provides good lighting for riding but also improves driving safety. The front light illuminates the road ahead for users in the dark or at night, and the rear light includes brake lights that issue warning signals in time when braking to remind vehicles behind. The fingerprint recognition function, through advanced biometric technology, ensures that only authorized users can start the vehicle and effectively prevents theft. When the vehicle encounters abnormal situations such as being moved, collided, or illegally operated, the alarm function will immediately issue a loud alarm sound to attract the attention of surrounding people. In addition, the GPS positioning function can track the vehicle’s location in real time, allowing users to master the vehicle’s whereabouts at any time, further improving the vehicle’s safety.

Step 5

Prototyping and Testing

After completing the structural design, OPD conducted prototyping and testing. By making prototypes, OPD comprehensively tested the product’s performance, functions, and quality. During the testing process, OPD discovered and solved some potential problems, such as the connection stability of the charging module and the sensitivity of the alarm function. After multiple optimizations and improvements, OPD finally ensured that the product met the client’s requirements and market standards.
