Project Context

With the increasing global awareness of health, consumers are becoming more demanding about the air quality inside vehicles. Especially in the context of the increasing risk of virus transmission, efficient and safe car disinfection products have become an urgent market demand. BLOCKER, a well-known Japanese brand, enjoys a high reputation in the disinfection field with its unique chlorine dioxide slow-release technology. However, facing fierce market competition and changing market demands, BLOCKER aims to further expand its product line, especially to achieve breakthrough progress in the field of car disinfection with the introduction of the Car Disinfector.

 

Although BLOCKER possesses leading chlorine dioxide slow-release technology, it still faces multiple challenges in successfully applying it to car disinfection products. Firstly, the environment inside vehicles is complex and variable, ensuring the stable release of chlorine dioxide and achieving the desired disinfection effect is a technical challenge. Secondly, consumers have high expectations for the aesthetic design and user experience of car disinfection products, which requires us to focus on aesthetics and convenience while improving product functionality. Finally, in the fierce market competition, how to stand out among many brands and establish BLOCKER’s leading position in the field of car disinfection is a common challenge for us.

Solution

To address BLOCKER’s challenges and demands, we proposed a car disinfector solution based on chlorine dioxide core technology. Through deep research into BLOCKER’s chlorine dioxide slow-release technology, we successfully integrated it into car disinfection products, achieving product innovation and upgrading.

During the design process of the solution, we worked closely with BLOCKER to gain a deep understanding of its technical characteristics and market demands. Through technical exchanges and discussions between both parties, we optimized the chlorine dioxide release mechanism for the unique environment inside vehicles, ensuring its stable and safe operation under various conditions. At the same time, we also focused on the aesthetic design and user experience of the product, making it meet consumer tastes and provide a convenient and easy-to-use experience.

Step 1

Car Disinfector Design

Based on BLOCKER’s brand image and market positioning, we designed a car disinfector that meets consumer demands. In terms of mechanical design, we fully considered the product’s practicality and durability. Through precise calculations and simulations, we ensured that the release rate and quantity of chlorine dioxide are optimal.

Engineering

For hardware development, we customized suitable circuit boards, sensors, and power management solutions based on BLOCKER’s chlorine dioxide slow-release technology. In terms of firmware development, we programmed precise control of chlorine dioxide release, ensuring its stability and reliability through multiple tests and verifications.

Car Disinfector Prototyping

After completing the product design and development, we produced prototype products and conducted rigorous testing and verification with BLOCKER’s assistance. By simulating various in-vehicle environments and usage scenarios, we ensured that the product operates stably and safely under various conditions, achieving the expected disinfection effect, similar to how an Electric Toothbrush performs under different usage conditions.
